Obituary of Gerald Filson

It is with extremely heavy and shattered hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Gerald Filson on June 26, 2021 at the early age of 38.

Cherished son of Clay Filson and Adele Arbour (née Wiekowicz) (late Tom Arbour). Loving brother of Greg Filson (Tianna). Gerald will be sorrowfully missed by his Gege Takehiko Yamamoto, Aunt Josephine O’Brien and cousins; Kathy O’Brien, Fran O’Brien (Stephanie) and their children Sloane & Myles. He will also be missed by his stepsisters Katie Arbour (Jason), Melinda Arbour (Ryan) and cousin Elissa Filson. Gerald was predeceased by his Babcia Annie Yamamoto, Uncle Ed Wiekowicz, Grandma Nellie Filson, Grandpa Gerald Filson and his two fur buddies Domi and Cujo.

Gerald attended Holy Cross High School and Niagara College. His career was centred around the Food and Beverage Service Industry however, during the pandemic he worked with a Landscaping Company. Gerald was an integral part of many peoples lives, he enjoyed helping others and took pride in his many accomplishments. Gerald enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Gerald was intrigued by nature and had a passion for the great outdoors, enjoyed catch and release fishing, boating, or chilling at the beach. Gerald loved playing sports; hockey, football, baseball, you name it… he played it. Also being an avid sports fan, he looked forward to watching his favorite teams and Nascar driver in action.

Gerald will be sadly missed by his family, beloved family pet Ranger, friends and colleagues.
