Our History
On January 1st, 1966, Armand and Florianne Gervais opened the doors to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME at 827 East Main Street, Welland, Ontario. It was a modest building consisting of two visitation rooms. Mr. and Mrs. Gervais served the local community with the greatest respect and excellent service. They made themselves available 24 hours a day and as their reputation grew so did the building at 827 East Main Street. It wasn't long before an extra visitation room and a chapel was added to the funeral home to better serve the needs of the families in our community.
In 1991 Armand and Florianne's son Roger graduated from the Funeral Services Program at Humber College in Toronto and obtained his Funeral Director's License. After graduating, he came to work alongside his parents, adding a second generation to the business. With Roger now at the helm for more than 15 years, we remain a proud family owned business that has just welcomed the third generation on board. We are proud of and grateful for our team and their diverse strengths and abilities. We believe that each one is a caring, understanding professional, who takes pride in helping others. For over 55 years the Gervais family and their team has built the Welland Funeral Home on integrity while striving to serve every family with the greatest respect, compassion and understanding.
Our Funeral Home is conveniently located just off HWY 406 and has ample parking with wheelchair accessibility. From the time you enter the front door you will be greeted by our kind and caring team who will treat you with respect and warmth and with no hidden sales agenda. We offer services in both English and Français. Our visitation rooms and chapel are comforting and spacious. A reception room is also available for families who choose to have a celebration of life and reception all in ONE PLACE.
