Armand and Florianne Gervais
Founders
Mr. and Mrs. Gervais built the funeral home and opened the doors in January 1966. With an exceptional work ethic and a dedication to serving their community they grew a successful business which we are honored and grateful to carry on since their retirement in 2006. Their values and vision for the funeral home have been instilled in us and we pride ourselves in serving every family with Integrity, Compassion and Exceptional Service. Because of them, our family has been serving local families for over 55 years.
Roger Gervais
Senior Funeral Director/Owner
A lifelong resident of Welland, Roger attended local schools in the french community and received his funeral director license from Humber College in 1991. Roger worked alongside his dad in the funeral home for fifteen years before taking over the reigns on his dad's retirement in 2006. The Gervais family is proud and grateful to have served our community for over 55 years. Roger is married to Vickie and together they have two sons Danniel (Destanee) and Joshua (Alexandra) and they are blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Maxton, Jarrett, Logan and Henley.
Tianna Bernard
Funeral Director
Tianna was born and raised in Welland. When choosing a profession, being in a career that made a difference in the lives of others was an unwavering must. While in her high school years at École Secondaire Catholique Jean-Vanier she participated in the co-operative education program at a funeral home in Fonthill. This experience cemented her desire to become a Funeral Director. She moved to Toronto to study Funeral Services at Humber College in 2013. Tianna continued to gain valuable knowledge and grew into a Funeral Director through her internship. After graduation from Humber College in 2016, Tianna returned to Niagara to be close to her family.
Tianna and Greg moved in together in 2019, and recently got engaged in 2023. They share their home with their three adorable fur-babies: Siris, Luci, and Apollo.
Tianna is passionate about helping others, and wants to be able to make a difference in people’s lives when they need extra care and attention, especially when someone experiences the death of a loved one. She is honoured to serve families in Niagara and looks forward to continue her role as a Funeral Director at The Welland Funeral Home.
Hannah Gauthier
Funeral Director
Hannah was born and raised in Welland. She always felt a strong calling towards a career in funeral services, following in her family’s footsteps. Determined to pursue this path, she moved to Sudbury in 2022 to study Funeral Services at Collège Boréal. During her time there, Hannah gained significant knowledge and expertise. Hannah moved back to Welland in 2023 to be closer to her family, her significant other Mitch and their two fur babies: Salem and Luna. She has honed her skills as a Funeral Director through an internship at the Welland Funeral Home. After earning her degree in 2024, she is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Her passion for providing support and care shines through in her work, especially when helping families navigate the grief of losing a loved one. She feels privileged to serve the Niagara community and is eager to continue her role as a Funeral Director at The Welland Funeral Home.
Jennifer Laroche
Funeral Pre-Planner & Aftercare Consultant
Jennifer was born in St. Catharines and moved to Welland in 2002 with her husband, Steph. They are the proud parents of Seth and Paige. Dedicated to supporting her community, Jennifer has been a member of multiple parent councils and volunteers with local sports teams.
Since joining our team in 2015, Jennifer has helped us in supporting our families with her compassionate heart and her impeccable attention to detail. Her enthusiasm for advancing in the funeral service field led her to complete the Funeral Pre-Planner course at Humber College with honors. Jennifer is now a licensed Funeral Pre-Planner and Aftercare Consultant, and she continues to provide exceptional support to our families with her heartfelt care and expertise.
Cal Harker
Funeral Director Assistant
Retiring from a career in sales in 2017, Cal joined our team at the funeral home in September 2019. He is an integral part of maintaining the funeral home inside and out and we greatly appreciate his strong work ethic and commitment. He enjoys golf, reading, gardening and indulges in all things pertaining to home repairs. He's a great addition to our family and has a genuine passion for helping the families we serve.
Danniel Gervais
Funeral Director Assistant
Danniel is our third generation of the Gervais family who joined us at the Funeral Home in January 2020. He is our technical wizard and takes care of all things in the computer and tech departments. In addition to being tech savvy, Danniel has a background in graphic design and we are grateful for his help in rebranding the Funeral Home in recent months. He is also the creator of our new logo that we are very proud of. Danniel is a lifelong resident of Welland. A graduate of Notre Dame and Niagara College. He is the proud father of Maxton and fiancé of Destanee.
Brittany Marois
Funeral Director Assistant/Aftercare Consultant
Brittany was born and raised in the greater Toronto area. She moved to Welland in 2015, after graduating from Fanshawe college. Her career in the social service field took off when she started working at a local homeless shelter, where she discovered a profound passion for helping others. Brittany became part of our family in February 2022, bringing her dedication and warmth to our team and quickly becoming a valued and cherished member. During Brittany’s free time she enjoys playing sports, socializing with friends and spending time with her fur babies Luna & Oliver.
In Memory of Ghislain Bourget
1935-2015
Mr Bourget will always be remembered as a dear friend and valued member of our team. We miss his presence and wonderful sense of humour and we are grateful we had the opportunity to work with him and grow a wonderful friendship over the many years that he served the families in our community with us.
