Obituary of Tomasso Vescio
VESCIO, Tomasso
With great sadness and heavy hearts, we share the news of the peaceful passing of Tomasso Vescio on November 24, 2023, at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Born on July 16, 1944, to Domenico and Carmelina (Raso) Vescio, he has now reunited with his late wife, Bernardetta (Ambrosio) Vescio, in eternal rest. Tomasso and Bernardetta's love story, spanning an incredible 61 years, was a testament to their enduring commitment and the depth of the bond they shared. Together, they crafted a beautiful family that became a source of immeasurable joy and fulfillment. He leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom for his surviving children, Domenic (Gina), Carmela (Kevin), Grace (Paul), and Raffaela. Tomasso took immense pride in being a devoted and adoring grandfather to Alysha (Jake), Micheal (Nicole), and Thomas (Kaitlyn), finding particular joy in the laughter of his great-grandson, Jacob. Tomasso was a dedicated brother to Giovanni (Maria) and Raffaela Palermo (late Tony). He is now peacefully reunited with his parents, Domenico and Carmelina Vescio, as well as his in-laws, Joseph and Fiorina Ambrosio, and sister Grace Raso (Nicholas). Known for his infectious laughter and warm smile, Tomasso had a unique gift for bringing joy to those around him. His sense of humor served as a comforting embrace, creating enduring memories that will be cherished for generations. A man of many talents, Tomasso found solace and joy in tending to his garden and working around the family bakery, the Four Season Bakery. These were sacred spaces where he felt most at home, surrounded by the fruits of his labor and the enduring love of his family. Above all, Tomasso found his greatest joy in the company of his family. Whether gathered around the dinner table, celebrating milestones, or sharing stories, he cherished every fleeting moment spent with those he held dear. His legacy lives on in the echoes of laughter, the embrace of love, and the unity he cultivated within his family. Relatives and friends are invited to join in honoring Tomasso's memory at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION and RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, on Tuesday from 1 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm. A private family service, officiated by Father Raymond Fenech Gonzi, will be held in the funeral home chapel, with entombment to follow at Pleasantview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, embodying Tomasso's compassionate and caring spirit.
May Tomasso Vescio rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the boundless love and warmth that he so generously shared during his remarkable journey through life.
