Obituary of Antoinette Turmel
With her family by her side Antoinette Turmel (née Huard) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Rene Turmel. Cherished mother of daughter Carmen Turmel-Tsaparis (Tom) and the late son Daniel Turmel (late Vicky) & (late Cindy). Treasured grandmother of; Michele, Kathleen (Nathan), Nina (Marco), Corey (Steph), Caryn (Brandon), Mike (Rachel), and her great-grandchildren Samantha, Evan, Layne, Seth, Landon, Carter and Callan. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Angeline (née Laliberte) Huard and her 13 siblings.
She loved her family with all her heart. She enjoyed; knitting, outdoors, puzzles and can’t forget Bingo.
A big thank you goes to Leah from the Emergency Department, the staff on the 6th floor and the staff of the Woolcott Wing of the Welland Hospital for all their care and attention of Antoinette, the strongest fighter we know. The family will be forever grateful for the support and care shown by their extended family members during this difficult time.
The family will receive family and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Eglise Sacré Coeur. Cremation will follow and interment in Woodlawn Cemetery will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
