Obituary of Anita Leblanc
C'est avec grande tristesse que notre famille annonce le décès d’Anita Gertrude Leblanc (née St. Amour) au Foyer Richelieu de Welland le 28 octobre, 2023, à l’âge de 93 ans. Elle était l’épouse de Lucien Leblanc (de feu) et elle laisse dans le deuil quatre enfants: Micheline (Richard), Michel, Daniel (Jacki), et Louise (Scott), en plus de neuf petits-enfants (Marcel, Robert, Daniel, Justice, Emily, Maddi, Isaac, Monique et Natalie) et quatre arrière-petits-enfants (Rémi, Céleste, Éloi et Émile), ainsi que ses soeurs Clémence et Carmel, son frère Michel, sa belle-soeur Joyce, et plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Elle fut prédécédée par ses parents Aldéric et Éva (Gingras) St. Amour et par cinq frères et six soeurs: Roland, Marcel, Jeannine, Alice Rainville (Henri), Père Lionel, Soeur Rolande, Annette Giroux (Henri), Laurent, Rachel Lafrenière (Raymond), Gilles (Colombe), et Florence Perron (Henri).
Dévouée à sa famille, Anita était aussi très engagée dans la paroisse du Sacré-Coeur où elle servit à titre de ministre de la Communion avec son mari pour plusieurs années. Elle fut partie des Dames de Sainte-Anne et elle était aussi membre de la Légion de Marie. Anita visitait souvent les malades à l’hôpital de Welland ainsi que les personnes âgées au Foyer Richelieu et au Rapelje Lodge. Un femme très active, elle aimait se promener en bicyclette en plus de faire du jardinage, la cuisson, la couture, et du tricotage, entre autre. Elle aimait surtout passer du temps avec sa famille et de recevoir ses enfants et (arrières) petits-enfants pour des grands soupers en famille.
Elle sera exposée au Salon Funéraire de Welland situé au 827, rue Main est, à compter de vendredi le 10 novembre entre 14 h et 16h, et de 18 h à 20 h, en plus du samedi matin du 11 novembre de 9 h 30 à 10 h 30. Les funérailles auront lieu le samedi 11 novembre 2023 à l’Église Sacré-Cœur à 11 h. L’enterrement aura lieu à une date ultérieure. Si désiré, des dons à Fonds Foyer Richelieu, à la Paroisse Sacré-Cœur, ou à Lung Health Foundation seraient bien appréciés par la famille.

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Anita Gertrude Leblanc (née St. Amour) at the Foyer Richelieu in Welland on October 28, 2023, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Lucien Leblanc. Treasured mother of 4 children; Micheline (Richard), Michel, Daniel (Jacki), and Louise (Scott). Forever in the hearts of her 9 grandchildren; Marcel, Robert, Daniel, Justice, Emily, Maddi, Isaac, Monique and Natalie & her 4 great-grandchildren Rémi, Céleste, Éloi and Émile. She will be missed by her siblings; Clémence, Carmel and Michel, her sister-in-law Joyce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Aldéric and Éva (née Gingras) St. Amour, and her siblings; Roland, Marcel, Jeannine, Alice Rainville (Henri), Father Lionel, Sister Rolande, Annette Giroux (Henri), Laurent, Gilles (Colombe), Rachel Lafrenière (Raymond) and Florence Perron (Henri).
Anita was lovingly devoted to her family. She was very involved with the Sacred Heart parish where she served as Eucharist Minister with her husband for several years. She was also a member of Dames de Sainte-Anne and the Legion of Mary. Anita often visited the sick at the Welland Hospital as well as the elderly at Foyer Richelieu and Rapelje Lodge. A very active woman, she enjoyed riding her bicycle in addition to gardening, cooking, sewing, and knitting, among other activities. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and hosting her children and grandchildren for large family dinners.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be held at Église du Sacré-Coeur at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow, interment will take place at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired, donations to Fonds Foyer Richelieu, Paroisse Sacré-Coeur, or to Lung Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
