Obituary of Maureen Gervais
It is with mixed emotions that our family announces that Maureen Gervais (née Cecchini) left this world on September 26, 2023, at the age of 84. Her long and painful battle with dementia has finally come to an end. Survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Emery Gervais. Cherished mother of Murray (Rose) Gervais, Grant (Darcy) Gervais and Leanne (Brian) Derrah. Dear sister of Walter (Carole) Cecchini, Joe (Nancy) Cecchini, Brenda Cecchini and John (Deanna) Cecchini. Beloved sister-in-law of Gail Arsenault and Edmore Gervais. Predeceased by her parents Orlando and Irene (née Shields) Cecchini.
Maureen enjoyed music and loved to sing and dance, she was the life of the party. As a lifelong nurse in Extendicare Nursing in St. Catharines; the care she provided to others, was repayed many times over, by the staff of Royal Rose Place in Welland. The love and dignity with which they treated Maureen was greatly appreciated and we will forever be thankful for them and their care.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. Following Maureen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be returning to her roots in Hydro Bay, where she made many happy memories throughout her life.
