It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Roger Nadeau on July 11, 2023, with family by his side, at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Klotz) for 65 years. Forever in the hearts of his three daughters Carrie Farr (late Doug Cawthorn), Amy Nadeau, and Cathy (Morris) Coverdale. Cherished grandfather of Suzanne (Shawn) Glaab, Ryan Farr (Cindy Marques), Austin Coverdale (Kayla Cowie), and Morgan Coverdale. Predeceased by his great-granddaughter Gracie Mae Glaab. Survived by his brother Lucien, dearly missed by sisters-in-law Betty Nadeau, Mary Ann (Peter) Yaromich, brothers-in-law Rob Thomson, Joseph (Agnes) Klotz, and George (Linda) Klotz, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his; parents Benjamin and Adine (nee Collin), two brothers and three sisters.
Roger was a longtime resident of Wainfleet, serving as a founding member of the Wainfleet Credit Union. He was one of the last milkmen delivering by horse and wagon, for Sunnyside Dairy in Welland. He later worked, and retired from, Atlas Steels. He had many interests, but his passion was wood working, if it could be made from wood, he could craft it. A gentle unassuming man, whose dependability never wavered. The family extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Kamouna and the nursing staff at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE 827 East Main St., Welland on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A chapel service will be held at the Welland Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., the family will welcome guests an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dunnville Healthcare & Hospital Foundation in Roger’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
