Obituary of Laurette Gauthier
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mrs. Laurette (née Corriveau) Gauthier surrounded by family, at the Welland Hospital on April 23, 2023 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Claude Gauthier (2003). Loving mother of Richard (Maureen) of Welland, Jean Claude (Tammy) of Florida, Suzanne Caron, the late Nicole Babin, Lise Laroche (Ronald), Denise Gauthier (Patrick Therrien) all of Welland and Lynne MacDonald (Ron) of Pickering. Mamère will forever be in the hearts of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laurette will be missed by her sister-in-law Diane Corriveau. Predeceased by; her parents Alfred and Blanche Corriveau, and her brother Roger Corriveau.
Mrs. Gauthier was born in Welland and remained a resident of the Rose City all of her life. Laurette found peace and comfort in her faith above all else. Her devotion to Christ was demonstrated through her strong commitment to the Catholic church. Her time was spent with family, where she found her greatest joy. Laurette loved doing word searches, watching Wheel of Fortune, Sunday mass and the doves outside her window. The family would like to extend thanks to Foyer Richelieu, for their gracious care of Laurette in her last months.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE 827 East Main St., Welland on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Église Sacré-Coeur, 72 Empire St., Welland on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Interment of the ashes will be held on a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Foyer Richelieu will be appreciated by the family.
