Obituary of Lucette Bernard
Our family has the hard task of announcing the death of our matriarch, Lucette Bernard (née Leblanc). Beloved wife of Camille Bernard for 65 years. Dear mother of Annette Sheppard (George) and their children Shawn (Michelle) and Cara (Rob Martin) as well as great grandchild Evan Sheppard. The late Denis (2013) (the late Catherine 2014) and their children A.J. and Davin. Angela Bernard (John Albers) and their children Danielle (T.J. Brown), the late Christian, and Stefan (Kim Hemme). Claude (Sheri-rae) and their children Brynn and Kai. Robert (Annie Tremblay-Bernard) and their children Éric and Julie. Lucette will be missed by her in-laws; Paul (Eileen), Roland (the late Catherine) and Donald (Deanna). Predeceased by her parents André and Carmel (née Grenier) Leblanc, as well as her in-laws Betty, Denise (Roger), and Roger (Karen).
Lucette was a mother figure to all who knew her, whether family or friend. She was an entrepreneur at heart, from real estate to Bernard’s Sewing Plus. Her love of dancing was contagious. Every person she knew was treated as family. Her house was always open and known as the home to gather at.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at Église du Sacre Coeur 72 Empire St., Welland on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Fonds Foyer Richelieu would be greatly appreciated by the family.
