Obituary of Ronald Joseph Daniel
The Daniel family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ronald Daniel, on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Foyer Richelieu. Beloved father of Michael (Candy) Daniel and Tracy (Linda) Daniel. Cherished step-father of Annie (Daniel) Descoteaux, Jenny Rochefort and Dean Rochefort. Treasured Grandpa of his 11 grandchildren; Ryan (Coralie), Jordan (Taylor), Brandon (Heather), Josée (Curtis), Christine (Justin), Justin (Michelle), Sarah (Chantel), Jesse, Zach, Amanda (Robert) and Johnny, as well as his 7 great-grandchildren; Keyah, Ferah, Zenon, Avrielle, Jocelyne, Léo and Aiden. Ronald will be missed by his brother Joseph (Pearl) Daniel, sister-in-law Dorothy Daniel, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his first wife Claudette and second wife Cécile, grandson Remi, parents; Joseph and Pearl, his brother Maurice and sister-in-law Faye.
Ronald was referred to by most as “Coach”, because of his lifelong involvement coaching both hockey and baseball in the Welland Minor leagues. His passion was family and friends. Thank you to the team at the Foyer Richelieu for taking such good care of dad and making him feel like part of the family.
The family will receive family and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Fond Foyer Richelieu would be greatly appreciated by the family.
