Obituary of Ralph Mercier
Mercier, Raoul “Ralph” 1946 – 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, Ralph Mercier on January 15th, 2023, at the age of 76. Beloved husband and best friend of Nan (Anderson) Mercier for 54 years. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Michelle Vanderweyden (John) and their children Elly, Isaac and Eryn as well by his son Shawn Mercier (Lisa) and her children Brittnei, Tyler and Jarret. Dear brother of Pat "Pierette" Robins (Arnold) and brother-in-law of Diana Mercier (Lionel Lapointe). Ralph was predeceased by his parents Raoul and Gabrielle Mercier and his brother Andy.
Ralph was employed at Hayes Dana for over 40 years. He started off on the production line as a welder and was thrilled when he was promoted to robotic technician. He also was a very talented but humble artist who loved to create beautiful paintings. Ralph enjoyed a game of golf as well as biking, but his most pleasurable activity was just being at home, puttering around his house.

The Mercier family will receive family and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland on Friday, January 20th, from 11am until service time at 1pm in the chapel. Interment of ashes will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
