Obituary of Jack Bourque

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Jack “Bookie” Bourque announces his sudden passing on December 13, 2022, at the age of 68. Jack will forever be cherished by his beloved wife Bonnie, of 39 years. The memories of the life they built together forever held close to her heart. Treasured brother of Leo (Diane) Bourque, Rene Bourque, Jean-Guy Bourque, Lina (Charles) Bielecki, Louise Samuel and Aline (Shawn) Christian. Cherished son-in-law of Mona and the late Allan Finlayson. Jack will be missed by his in-laws Debbie (Ray) Lagace, Tammy (Phil) Lustri, Cathy (John) Cowell, Kim (Derek) Collins, Patti (Chris) Boldin and Richard Taylor, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Lionel and Henriette (née Mailhot) Bourque.

Jack retired from the Ontario Paper Mill on April 1, 2010. Jack had a passion for old cars. He loved joining his friends at car shows and cruise nights with his 1957 Chevy and 1967 El Camino.

Jack’s family will receive family and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 827 East Main Street, Welland on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, December 19, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or SickKids would be greatly appreciated by the family.
