Obituary of Robert Lapointe
Our family has the sad task of announcing the passing of Robert Lapointe on June 1, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at Rapelje Lodge. Robert now joins in Heaven his beloved wife Marie Ange Lapointe (née Lacasse). Cherished father of Claude Lapointe, Roger (Karen) Lapointe, Doris Lapointe, Cecile (the late Ronald Boichuk), Diane (Roger Vaillancourt), and Suzanne (Perry Willoughan). Robert will be missed by his siblings, many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Robert dedicated his time to charity and faith. He was a proud member of Chevaliers de Colomb. He was known as “The Potato Guy”, as he would be the one for many years to peel potatoes for their fundraising fish fries. He was a very active member of Paroisse Sacré-Coeur and could be found carrying the cross to honour fellow church members at their funeral masses. Robert loved to garden, and his famous tomatoes will be missed by many. A special thank you goes to the staff of Rapelje Lodge for their outstanding care.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE on Friday June 3, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday June 4, 2022, at Paroisse Sacré-Coeur at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations made to Paroisse Sacré-Coeur in honour of Robert, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
