Obituary of Ida Berardi
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our dear mother, Ida Berardi (Née Mazza), at Northland Pointe in Port Colborne surrounded by her six daughters on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Berardi (2003). Loving mother of Clara (Joseph), Sylvia (John), Linda (Michael), Marisa, Vanda and Lisa (Ross). Beloved Nonna to 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her sister Elena (John). Predeceased by her parents Eugenio & Agata Mazza (née Sdao), siblings; Frank (Marietta), Rosa (Frank), Albina (Rocco) and Mario (Julia).
Ida immigrated to Canada in 1951 with her firstborn Clara to join her husband and together they worked hard to provide a happy and loving home for their family. Mom’s favourite past time was to tend to her vegetable and rose gardens. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and baking. Her homemade lasagna and baked goods were mouth watering and will be greatly missed. Mom loved to enjoy a cup of coffee and a cookie with any friends or family that stopped by.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE 827 East Main St., Welland, Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 1, at 10:00 a.m. A private entombment will take place at later date. Those that attend are required to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Lining-up and cycling of guests will be managed by the funeral home staff both indoors and outdoors. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Operation Smile Canada and St. Mary Roman Catholic Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
