Obituary of Monique St. Laurent
It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Monique St. Laurent on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at the age of 75. Dear sister of Madeline (late Julian), Jacqueline (late Arnold), Josie (late Victor), Maurice (Pat), Helen (late Ron) and Jean Baptiste (Elaine). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Louis & Lea (née Levesque) and her 6 siblings; Jeanne D’arc (late Martial), Delima (late Alcide), Xavier, Jean Paul (Aliette), Jacques (Lily) and Jean Claude (Diane).
Monique was born and raised in Welland. She started her career at the Park and Capitol theaters on Main St. She later moved to Toronto where she worked many years for Bank of Montreal and than Transport Canada where she retired in 2015. Monique loved to travel, was an avid reader and enjoyed attending dinner and the latest movie with her best friends Sharon and Sue. She was a huge fan of Coronation Street and had met many of the actors in person when they had brought the show to Canada. She was a lovely woman with a generous heart. Our sister, aunt and best friend will be forever missed.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME. Keeping with Monique's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. As expression of sympathy donations to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society will be greatly appreciate by the family.
