Obituary Rivett, Doris “Chuck” (Montean) January 28, 1924 - November 30, 2019 Passed away peacefully on November 30th 2019 at the age of 95, at ECU Welland. Survived by her daughter Holly (Larry Lowe). Grandchildren Jason, Dee Dee (Matt), Misty (Shawn), Larry Jr (Karen). Great grandchildren Chelsey, Niles, Emma, Devin and Sam. Doris is also survived by her sister Mary (Mae) Sakalauskus and sister in-law Donalda Montean. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins including the Rivett’s and Smagata families. Doris was predeceased by her husband Len (February 2009) and son Roger (October 2000). Her parents were Mike Montean and Mary Pascari who immigrated from the province of Bukovina in the early 1900’s. She came from a family of 10 siblings. Those predeceased are John (Theresa), Alex, Pearl (Charlie), Jean (Dick), Anna (Jack), Helen (Gord), Don (Flo), Bill and brother in-law Joe Sakalauskus. Doris loved life, her garden, pets, family, friends and any stray cat that came around. Her door was always open to anyone. The family would like to thank all the caring PSW’s, nurses, kitchen staff and anyone that made my mother’s stay at ECU Welland enjoyable. She really cherished all the friends she made while there. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main Street, Welland, Friday, December 6, 2019 at 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1p.m. Interment will follow in Doan`s Ridge Cemetery.
