Obituary of Ruth Shumlick

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth (nee Horton) Shumlick announce her passing at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on January 23rd, 2015 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Shumlick (2012). Loving mother of Mark Shumlick and Anita Shumlick. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents George and Laura (Carver) Horton, one brother Ray Horton and one sister Pearl Brown. Ruth was a workaholic. After retiring from teaching, Ruth became very involved with her business at the Grassy Brook Golf Club. Funeral Details The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main Street, Welland, Sunday from 2-4. Funeral service will be held on Monday in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lorraine Davis of Cook's Mill United Church officiating. Interment will follow in Doan's Ridge Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations by cheque to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Niagara would be appreciated by the family. Service Information
