Obituary of Antonio Vallières

At the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on February 16th, 2015, Mr. Antonio "Tony" Vallières passed away in his 94th year. Devoted husband of Jeannette (née Lapierre). Loving father of Denise (Mark Coffey). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Yvette, Élise and Paul Coffey. Survived by his brothers Magloire (the late Liliane), Léonard (Alice), Joachim (Cécile), Paul (Yvette) and his sister-in-law Gladys. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Josephine Vallières, his son Denis, brothers Ovila, Stanislas (the late Patricia), Armand (the late Rose), Alfred, Emmanuel (the late Jeannine), Gérard (the late Marguerite), Blanc and his sisters; Marie-Laure (the late Charles Chouinard), Anne-Marie (the late Roger Tremblay), Marie-Berthe (the late Cyril Larochelle). Antonio was born in St. Magloire de Bellechasse, Québec in 1921 and moved to Welland in 1946. He was a WWII veteran and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Colombus as well as a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was an active participant in the annual Remembrance Day Parade until he moved and relocated to Winston Park Retirement Home in September 2014. Funeral Details The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main Street, Welland, Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Paroisse du Sacré Coeur, 72 Empire St., Welland, Friday at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations by cheque to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 4 or the Canadian Hearing Society will be appreciated by the family. Service Information
