Obituary of Ruth Wurfel

WURFEL, Ruth Mary (D'Amico) Passed away peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital on Friday November 27th ,2015 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Louis Wurfel and Dominic D'Amico. Ruth is survived by her son David D'Amico and wife Sherry of Fonthill, nieces and nephews, sister Margaret (James) Duliban and predeceased by brother Gordon Jolley Sr. Ruth was born in Welland and remained a life resident of the city. She was associated with the Red Cross Association for 14 years and also employed at Ross Stores for a number of years. A special thank you to her good friend John Dostie for many years of friendship and also Lorraine and Harold Terry and the Wurfel Family. We would also like to thank the Nursing Staff at the Woolcott extended care unit for all their compassion during her short stay. Funeral Details In accordance with Ruth's wishes there will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations made to the Welland and District Humane Society would be appreciated. A private service will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery at the corner of Niagara St. and Woodlawn Rd., Welland at 11:00 am on Thursday December 3rd, 2015.
