Obituary of Philip Lance

LANCE, Philip Calvin - surrounded by the love of his family. Philip passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25th, 2016 in Florida, in his 60th year. Beloved husband of Jillian. Loving step-father to, Kelly Toulouse (Denis), Brad Duquette (Alysha), loving poppa to Ryleigh, Kayla, Leonard, Zachary and Emily. Cherished son of Patrick and the late Mina (2015), loving brother of Gerry (Nancy), Gord (Corals), Roy (Patricia), the late Barry (2015), Patrick Jr (Sondi), Uncle to Jeffrey, Christie, Andrea, Christopher, Melissa, Michael, Brittney, Kaleigh and Alexander. Great Uncle to Ben, Noah, Evva and Carter. Philip's professional career included Ensign Security as manager (15 years) and Peninsula Security as owner/operator (18 years). Philip was an avid sailor and marksman and was a long time member of the Port Colborne and District Conservation Club and vice president of the Hamilton Gun Club. He was also an accomplished finish carpenter and created many fine pieces over the years. He suffered through his cancer with great courage and battled to the end. He is now in a better place. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Welland, Juravinski and London Hospitals, especially a very heartfelt thanks to Dr. Roberto Hernandez-Alejandro for his compassion and care he gave Phil every step of the way. Funeral Details No visitation, a Funeral Mass will be held in the Parish Community of St Kevin 303 Niagara St, Welland, on Friday February 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. Donations in memory of Philip may be made to OneFoundation for Niagara Health System-Welland Hospital or the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation in Hamilton.
