Obituary of Émile Holmes

With heavy hearts, the family of Émile P. Holmes announces his passing at Rapelje Lodge on Thursday, February 25th, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Madeleine, and cherished father of Ronald (Jocelyne), Norman (Dallus), Daniel (Dianne) and Robert (Cheryl). Loving brother of Victor (Rose), Estelle Asselin (Robert) and dear brother-in-law of Helen (Claude) and Micheline (Yvon) Holmes. Émile will also be missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Richard, his parents, David and Irène and siblings; Jean-David (Johnny), Anita Boutin, Dolores Fournier, Claude and Yvon Holmes. Émile was born in Timmins but resided mostly in Welland since his marriage in 1951. He retired from GM St-Catharines in 1987. He attended mass at Église du Sacré-Coeur in Welland and was a member of the Chevaliers de Colomb Conseil 8296. Émile's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rapelje Lodge for all of their loving care and support. Funeral Details In accordance with Émile's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with Funeral Mass Saturday March 5th at Église Sacré-Coeur at 10 a.m. In memory of Émile, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Rapelje Lodge.
