Obituary of Carmen Côté

C'est avec grande tristesse que nous annonçons que notre chère mère et grand-mère Carmen (Carmelle) Côté est décédée, entourée de sa famille, le 22 juillet 2016 à Welland à l'âge de 80 ans. Elle est maintenant réunie pour toujours avec son amour et époux, Alphonse Côté (2012). Mère de Jacynthe Côté (Tiaz), Lyne D'Lima (Gary) et France Côté-Ferrusi (Riccardo) et grand-maman bien aimée et dévouée de Danielle D'Lima-Freeman (Colin), Stéphanie D'Lima et Jacob et Lucas Ferrusi. Carmen laisse également dans le deuil sa chère sœur Pierrette Fournier avec qui elle partageait un lien très spécial ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux au Québec. Nous étions fiers de partager notre mère avec vous tous. Carmen fut précédée par ses parents Pierre et Alvine Goupil, sa sœur Imelda Cloutier ainsi que sa belle-sœur Yolande Chabot et ses beaux-frères Paul-Henri Côté et Philippe Fournier. Maman était passionnée de sa famille et avait un bon sens d'humour. Elle aimait cuisiner (tourtières, ragoût et pouding chômeur) et jouissait de jouer aux cartes avec ses amis. Elle nous régalait parfois avec un beau chant : Quand le soleil dit bonjour aux montagnes... It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carmen (Carmelle) Côté at the NHS Welland Site on July 22, 2016 in her 81st year surrounded by her loving family. She is now "together forever" joined with her beloved husband Alphonse Côté (2012). Cherished mother of Jacynthe Côté (Tiaz), Lyne D'Lima (Gary) and France Côté-Ferrusi (Riccardo). She will be fondly remembered by her 4 grand-children who were her pride and joy: Danielle D'Lima-Freeman (Colin), Stéphanie D'Lima and Jacob & Lucas Ferrusi. Dear sister of Pierrette Fournier. Predeceased by her parents Pierre and Alvine Goupil and her sister Imelda Cloutier, sister-in-law Yolande Chabot and brothers-in-law Paul-Henri Côté and Philippe Fournier. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Quebec who held a special place in her heart. Our mother was devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking her specialties for them all (tourtières, ragoût and pudding chômeur.) She had a great sense of humour, loved to play tricks on her unsuspecting husband and relished a good game of cards. She especially loved singing to her grand-children and her loving presence will live on with them forever. Funeral Details Selon sa volonté, l'incinération a déjà eu lieu. Des dons au Fonds Foyer Richelieu seraient grandement appréciés par la famille. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A special mass will be held at a later date.
