Obituary of Marco Lalama

Peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, November 27th, 2016, Marco Lalama passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Mary Lalama. Loving father of Robert (Terri) Lalama of Welland, Mark (Jacqueline) Lalama of Fenwick, David (Donna) Lalama of Winnipeg, Paul (Carmelina) Lalama of St. Catharines and cherished stepfather to Tony (Michelle) Di Emanuele and Tom (Megan) Di Emanuele. Forever in the hearts of his grandchildren Carly, Adam, D.J., Mikayla, Breton, Dominique, Noah, Matteo, Christian and dear step grandfather to Elizabeth, Katherine, Gabriella and Gianni. Fondly remembered by his sisters Elisa (late Augusto) Buccitelli, Angela (late Frank) Giangregorio, Anna Maria (Frank) Trivieri and sister in law Anna Lalama. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Marco is predeceased by his parents Pasquale Lalama and Maria Piccirilli, brothers Tony and Joseph, and infant daughter Maria. Marco worked at John Deere for many years and had a passion for music. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Casa Dante Lodge, Coro Folkloristico Castropignano. He was a member of many musical groups including the Ronn Metcalfe Orchestra, The Queenston Concert Band and The Jimmy Marando Swing Band. He also formed and led his own bands, The C Clefs and The Skylarks. Marco was an avid bowler and golfer and a member of the South Niagara Health and Wellness Centre. "May his music live on in the hearts of those he loved." The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, 827 East Main Street, Welland on Thursday, December 1st, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 2nd, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alexander's Roman Catholic Church with the rite of committal to follow in the Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
