Obituary of Claire Cécile Brochu

CLAIRE BROCHU (1927 – 2016) C’est avec tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Claire Brochu, lundi, le 19 décembre, 2016 au Foyer Richelieu, Welland, Ontario, agée de 89 ans. Elle était l’épouse de feu Claude Brochu (prédécédé 2015), mère bien-aimée de Marie-Anne Chrétien (feu Ernest), Suzanne Brochu-Ranta (Richard), Denis Brochu, Hélène Brochu et de Pauline Wallace (Bruce). Claire tiendra une place très précieuse dans le cœur de ses petits-enfants, Natasha, Eric (Priyam), Michelle, Karl et Craig (Claire). Elle laisse dans le deuil ses sœurs, Anna Lachance (feu Léo) de St.Catharines, Berthe Gauthier (Léo) d’Ottawa et Laurette Leriche (feu Hugh) de Toronto et ses frères, Joseph Ducharme (Cora) de Sturgeon Falls et André Ducharme (Rollande) de Verner. Lui survivent également son beau-frère, Colin Balderson de Penetanguishene et sa belle-sœur, Thérèse Ducharme de Dowling. Prédécédée par ses parents, Maurice Ducharme et Yvonne (Lapensée) Ducharme, par son fils, Michel Brochu, par ses sœurs, Jeanne Meloche, Alice Trépanier, Rita Lavallée, Florence Brochu, Marie-Ange Coursol, Simone Levac, Suzanne Balderson et par son frère, Albert. Sincères remerciements au personnel du Foyer Richelieu pour les excellents soins prodigués. La famille recevra la parenté et les amis au Salon Funéraire Welland, 827, rue Main est, Welland, mardi, le 27 décembre de 14h00 à 16h00 et de 19h00 à 21h00. Prières à 20h00. Une messe funéraire sera célébrée à 11h00, mercredi, le 28 décembre à l’église du Sacré-Cœur, 72, rue Empire, Welland. L’inhumation privée aura lieu, vendredi, le 30 décembre. Beloved wife of the late Claude Brochu (predeceased 2015) and cherished mother of Marie-Anne Chrétien (the late Ernest), Suzanne Brochu-Ranta (Richard), Denis Brochu, Hélène Brochu and Pauline Wallace (Bruce). Claire will be forever in the hearts of her grand-children, Natasha, Eric (Priyam), Michelle, Karl and Craig (Claire). She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Anna Lachance (the late Léo) of St.Catharines, Berthe Gauthier (Léo) of Ottawa, Laurette Leriche (the late Hugh) of Toronto et her brothers, Joseph Ducharme (Cora) of Sturgeon Falls and André Ducharme (Rollande) of Verner. Survived by brother-in-law, Colin Balderson of Penetanguishene and by her sister-in-law, Thérèse Ducharme of Dowling. She was predeceased by her parents, Maurice Ducharme et Yvonne (Lapensée) Ducharme, her son, Michel Brochu, her sisters, Jeanne Meloche, Alice Trépanier, Rita Lavallée, Florence Brochu, Marie-Ange Coursol, Simone Levac, Suzanne Balderson and her brother, Albert. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home, 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Tuesday, December 27 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Prayers at 8 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 28 at 11 am at Sacred Heart Church, 72 Empire Street, Welland. A private inurnment will be held on Friday, December 30.
