I did not have the privilege to serve with Joe, but I have met him at various Artillery and Airborne reunions across the country over the past few years and nonetheless, I am glad I got to know him a little. I could tell that he was very much liked and highly respected by everyone that knew him. He will be greatly missed.

The Girard Family. I had the privilege of speaking with Joe by phone as he was being transferred to palliative care. We spoke of better times with the Airborne Regiment and other things as soldiers would.. I was so impressed with his attitude and fortitude in facing what lay ahead of him. The words would be an inspiration to all and I will certainly carry it with me when my time approaches..Great guy and fine Trooper. Good Shooting, Rest Easy and Soft Landings.. Herb Pitts

A fine, big-hearted, soldier and comrade with whom it was my privilege to serve in both 4RCHA and the Airborne Battery. He had the most wonderfully exuberant personality, an infectious sense of humour, and was great company. He lightened the lives of those who knew him and will be much missed.

Dear Jeannine and family:
Joe was one of the best ! He was a great Gunner and Jumper. He spoke with pride of his days in 1 AB Bty. At the Shilo Reunions, his stories would whisk his audience away to Jamaica, Resolute Bay, Alert, and Churchill. His penchant for recall, and his amazing stories, are unforgettable.
I always looked forward to seeing Joe at the Arty Reunions. He will be sadly missed by all.
Joe, Rest In Peace, mon ami !

Jeannine and family! Deepest Condollances. Joe was my Sgt in the early days in 1Ab Bty who was a leader I always respected and admired. He taught me as a young soldier in the army the importance of no matter what hardships we encounter in doing our soldiering duties, we must have fun.At the many reunions we had together with him and Jeannine, we had a great time sharing our stories which would tend to get better with time. RIP Joe AKA Albert, Airborne Ubique!
