Obituary of Claudette Nolet
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, Claudette Nolet. Claudette passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24th, 2017, in Welland Ontario, after a short battle against cancer.
Claudette will be sadly missed by her sister, Liliane Séguin; her daughters, Brigitte (Chris), Stéfanie (Adam), Chantal (Earl); her two granddaughters, Téa and Macy; along with her numerous nieces, nephews, sisters in law and brothers in law, whose lives she touched. Claudette was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Ronald Nolet; her mother, Claire Séguin; and her brothers, Cléo and Lucien.
Claudette’s kindness and compassion touched everyone who knew her. Always with a smile on her face and a gentle word to be said, her generous and vibrant personality was evident from the moment she greeted you. Claudette’s wonderful sense of humour and her love of travel entertained her friends and family as she told stories of her adventures.
Claudette was an active and giving member of her community with many family members and friends close by with whom she shared her daily life. She spent her working career teaching students throughout the Welland area.
The immediate family would also like to extend its deepest thanks to the many friends and family who helped care for Claudette in her final days – namely Sue Desjardins; Lucy Ferland; Mary Anne Kovacich; Debbie Marr; Miguel Marr; Scott Murray and Liliane Séguin. We would also like to thank the physicians and nurses at the Juravinski Cancer Centre and the Community Care Access Centre staff who ensured she had the best possible care.
We welcome friends, family and well wishers on Friday, March 3rd, at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME (827 E Main St) from 2-4pm and again from 6-8pm. The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 4th, at 10am at Sts Peter and Paul Church (300 Chaffey Street, Welland) with a reception to follow.
