Obituary of Francesco Sdao

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco "Frank" Sdao surrounded by his loving family at the Rapelje Lodge on April 3rd, 2017 at the age of 82. Devoted husband of Franca (nee Nobile) of 57 years. Cherished father of Kathy Sdao-Jarvie (Keith), Antonette Sdao Fraser (Doug) and Roger (Nicole Bahnub). Nonno will be forever in the hearts of his 7 grandchildren: Sonia, Nadia, Nathaniel, Zachary, Rachel, Madison, and Naomi and many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Rosina (Mario Fucile), Maria (Carmelo Mazzei) and Antonio (Maria Grazia) and brother-in-law of Alba (Carmelo Adamo) and Maria Nobile. He was predeceased by his parents Ruggero and Caterina (nee Berardi) Sdao, his in-laws Vincenzo and Antonietta (nee Bocchinfuso) Nobile, and his brothers-in-law Antonio Umberto and Angelo Raffaele Nobile. Frank was born in Mangone Pr. Cosenza, Italy on March 9, 1935 and moved to Canada in 1956 as a young man. He married and established his family in Welland where he found employment at Stelco and worked there until he retired in 1995. He was known as being a proud family man and deeply enjoyed spending time with them. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main Street, Welland on Wednesday, April 5 from 7-9 pm and Thursday, April 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held at 3:45 pm on April 6. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on April 7 at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10:30 am. Entombment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens will follow.
