Obituary of Roch Létourneau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roch G. Letourneau (Rocky) on June 22, 2017 at the age of 61. He was a devoted and dedicated husband and father. He leaves behind his wife Patricia (Patty) Letourneau (Grawey) and just celebrated their 34th Anniversary. A loving father to Meghan Letourneau (Kirk) and Kevin Letourneau. Survived by siblings Theresa (Harold) Shemko, Luc (Karen) Letourneau, Leo (Diane) Letourneau, Jules (Monica) Letourneau, Roger Letourneau, Lise Letourneau, Guy “Giggers” (Claudette) Letourneau. Survived by sisters-in-law Cecile Letourneau and Irene Letourneau. Survived by brother-in-law Myron. Survived by mother-in-law Enrica (Rita) Grawey (Borgatti). Survived by his in-laws Tim (Terrie) Grawey, Terry (Therese) Grawey and Monica (Bob) Pickersgill. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his grand dog Lexi. Predeceased by siblings: Gaston Letourneau, Claude Letourneau, Denise Woch and Lucien Letourneau. Predeceased by nephew Aron Letourneau. Predeceased by parents Marie-Jeanne and Ferdinand Letourneau. Rocky worked at Page-Hersey/Lakeside Steel for 30 years. He began a political career with Welland Hydro Electric Commission for 12 years and then elected on Welland City Council for 11 years as Ward 5 Councillor. He also served on many boards and committees – AFMO, Health Care, Niagara Central Airport and Economic Development. He coached minor soccer and hockey. He will be missed by his grand dog Lexi. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Welland Humane Society or Heart and Stroke would be appreciated. Visitations will be held at Welland Funeral home 827 Main St. E on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral service will be held at St. Kevin’s Roman Catholic Church 303 Niagara St. Welland on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 at 11am.
