Obituary of Madeleine Pitre

Madeleine Pitre (née Demers) born on September 24, 1925, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2017 at 6:50am at the Foyer Richelieu in Welland. She was the loving wife of Guy Pitre (deceased November 19, 2004). She leaves behind her three children Céline (Alan Endall), Louise (Joe Matheson) and Rénald (Michelle Reynolds), her four granddaughters Monique (Rob), Amanda, Nicole, Jamie and her great grandson Oliver. She is survived by her brothers Benoit and Bernard Demers and her sister Carmen Girouard. Madeleine was a force: strong, determined, kind, thoughtful, sometimes stubborn; loved to laugh, sing, cook and keep the books! A self-educated woman, she was a crossword puzzle expert who instilled curiosity in her children and encouraged them to get an education and go out and see the world. She adored her travels. The Pitre family wishes to thank the staff of the Foyer Richelieu for their very kind and attentive care these last five years. Elle était l’épouse dévouée de Guy Pitre (décédé le 19 novembre 2004). Elle laisse ses trois enfants Céline (Alan Endall), Louise (Joe Matheson) et Rénald (Michelle Reynolds), ses quatre petites-filles Monique (Rob), Amanda, Nicole et Jamie ainsi que son arrière petit-fils Oliver. Elle est survécue de ses deux frères Benoit et Bernard Demers et de sa soeur Carmen Girouard. Madeleine était une force de la nature: forte, déterminée, gentille, attentive et parfois têtue; elle adorait rire, chanter, cuisiner et garder les livres à jour! Autodidacte, elle était experte en mots croisés. Elle a transmis la curiosité à ses enfants et les a encouragé à voyager et voir le monde. Elle a adoré ses voyages. La famille Pitre tient à remercier chaleureusement tous les employés du Foyer Richelieu pour leurs soins attentifs et compatissants. La famille reçevra parents et amis pour une visite au SALON FUNÉRAIRE WELLAND 827 rue Main Est, Welland, le mardi, 1 août 2017 de 13 h jusqu'au service lieu en chapelle au salon funéraire à 14 h.
