Obituary of Paul Emile Lapointe
It is with profound sadness that the family of Paul Lapointe announce his passing in his 103rd year, at the Foyer Richelieu in Welland, Ontario.
Beloved husband of the late Julienne (née Boutin) and dear father of Michel (Marie), Gaston (Lise), Denise (David), Lise and Carolle.He leaves behind 16 grandchildren who loved him dearly: Martin (Raquel), Phil, Marc (Kathia),Cathy (Brian), Amanda,(Josh) Lienne,(Jeff) Paul, Andre (Nicole), Gregory, Michel (Brianne), Garrick (Kelsey ), Karyn (Dean),Danielle (Chris) Renee (Bobby) Eric,(Susie) Julie (Kirk) and Jennifer (Chris).Forever in the hearts of 32 great grandchildren .
Paul was predeceased by his sons, Gilles and Richard, his siblings Robert, Marius, O'Neill, Lucien, and Ovila as well as his loving parents. Paul will be fondly remembered by extended family throughout Ontario and Quebec.
Paul lived a life based on family, love, faith and hard work. He was a role model to all, and was much admired for his woodworking and carpentry talents. Born in the village of St-Magloire, Quebec, Paul came to Welland with his wife Julienne and young son, Michel where the family was raised. Paul was a member of the Carpenters Union for many years. Family gatherings, which he treasured, always included delicious suppers and games of cards. Paul's kindness,
warmth and love will live on the hearts of all who knew him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Foyer Richelieu for their great care, attention and kindness; all deeply appreciated.
The family invites relatives and friends to join them for a time of remembrance and sharing memories of Paul at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St., Welland, on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 2-4p.m and 6-8p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Welland Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Rites of committal will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Foyer Richelieu would be greatly appreciated by the family.
