Obituary of Eugene Couture
In loving memory of Eugene Couture, who passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 99. Eugene was born in Quebec on March 17, 1925. Predeceased by his parents, Adélard and Olivine; first wife, Francoise Couture; daughters, Linda Brown and Laurence Bellemare; grandsons, Marcel Perreault and Aurel Couture; and great-grandson, Bennett Bonato.
Eugene leaves behind his beloved wife, Carol Ann Couture; his children Roger (Michelle), Sue (late Ted), Ginette (Cleo), Nicole (Gilles), Denise, Colombe, Lise (Bill), Olay (Sandra), Bert (Joanne), Marcel (Joanne), and Tammy; 34 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Moving to South Porcupine in 1976, Eugene & Francoise became the proud owners of the Gold Range Hotel where the family quickly became part of the community. Eugene loved spending time in the kitchen, he also enjoyed working in the yard with his lovely wife Carol Ann. He was a man of many stories, he will be greatly missed and loved by all who were blessed to know him.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St., Welland, ON. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in South Porcupine, ON. The family would greatly appreciate donations in memory of Eugene be made to Baycrest Foundation.
