Obituary of George Tsaparis

George Tsaparis, of Welland, was born February 5, 1925, in the village of Statitsa Macedonia. He passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, at the age of 99 - just 2 months short of his 100th birthday. Beloved husband of Angela for 72 years and loving father to daughter Helen (Sam), and son Tom (Carmen). He will forever be in the hearts of; his granddaughter Samantha (Nick), grandson Christopher (Valerie), and great-grandchildren Ava, Johnny, William, Benjamin and Sebastian. He will be greatly missed by his only living brother Angelo, his many nieces and nephews and numerous friends and family. Predeceased by his parents John and Sophie, and 2 brothers Sote and Nase. 

George came to Canada in 1956 with his family and worked at his father’s restaurant “Johnny’s Grill” until finally retiring in 1990. 

All are welcome to join the family in honouring George at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 11:00am until the chapel service at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Woodlawn cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
