Obituary of Gladys Louisa Nero
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Gladys Louisa Nero (née Hodgkins) on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late Pasquale Nero. Cherished mother of Anna (Jamie), Ralph (Shelley), and Mario (Tracy). Dear sister of Janet, Faye (Bob), Tom, and Mary Lou (Joe). Gladys will forever be in the hearts of her grandchildren; Sonja, Jessie, Ashley, Felicia, Thomas, and Autymm, and her great-grandchild Cameron James as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Lyle and Ethel, her sister Suzanne, and her brother Don.
Gladys’s favorite pastimes included fishing by the water, camping under the stars, and singing her heart out at karaoke nights. Whether it was enjoying a friendly game of bingo or baking sweet treats for those she loved, Gladys knew how to bring joy and comfort to those around her. Her laughter, warmth, and infectious spirit will be deeply missed.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St., Welland, ON. A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday December 18, 2024 from 1-5 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion on 383 Morningstar Avenue Welland, ON. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Gladys would be greatly appreciated by the family.
