Obituary of Gisele Malaguti
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gisele Desneige Malaguti (née Garand) at the Welland Hospital on the evening of Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 90.
Gisele is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, John; her beloved children, Anthony (Christine), Marcia (John) Briggs, and Jeffrey (Christine); her grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Swanson, Rebecca (Austin) Allain, Robert (Kristen), and Matthew; her great-grandchildren, Will and Walker; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Lorraine Labrie. Gisele was predeceased by her parents, Désiré and Délia Garand (née Gosselin), and her siblings, Rudy, Larry, Jean, Yolande Tykolis, Laureanne Perreault, and Doris Roversi.
Gisele was the heart of our home—a devoted wife, loving mother, and dedicated homemaker. Her culinary talents nourished our family in both body and spirit, and her passion for crafting, knitting, and needlepoint filled our home with treasured keepsakes. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she remained a guiding presence in the lives of her three children, a legacy that will live on forever.
In keeping with Gisele’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family will welcome visitors for a time of gathering at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice Niagara.
