Obituary of Lucienne Huot

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucienne Huot (née Gagné) on November 7, 2024, at the age of 97, with her family by her side. She will be forever missed by her children; Gérald, Ginette (Marcel), Patrick (Louise), Alain (Shari) and Aline (Jean-Marc).  She will be also missed by her loving grandchildren; Michael, Denny, Suzanne, Kimberley, Nancy, Stéphanie, Marc, Lee-Ann, Shawn, Justin, Ashley and her many great-grandchildren.  

Lucienne's life was defined by her immense love for children. She dedicated many years to caring for children in her home daycare and later became a school lunchroom supervisor. Her compassion and dedication to nurturing young lives made her a beloved figure in her community.

Lucienne was also an active member of the Artisanats Club and a regular participant in Le Club Social, where she and her husband enjoyed countless hours of euchre games with friends. For over 20 years, she volunteered at the Foyer Richelieu, a role she took on with a sense of purpose and joy. One of her cherished sayings was, “Qu’elle allait nourrir ses p’tits vieux” referring to the elderly residents she cared for, even though she was older than many of them. Her daily visits were a testament to her selflessness and her deep commitment to others.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at Foyer Richelieu, whom they consider to be angels, for their exceptional care and respect shown to Lucienne during her time there.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. The family invites relatives and friends for visitation at Église Sacré-Coeur, 72 rue Empire, Welland on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, donations to the Fond Foyer Richelieu would be appreciated by the family.
