Obituary of Margaret Anne Skinner
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Margaret Anne Skinner (née Hulme), on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Northland Pointe, at the age of 72.
Margaret is survived by her spouse, Kevin Skinner. She was the cherished mother to her five children: Cheryl Podetz (Dave), Amanda Maynard (Trevor), Tim Skinner, the late Steve Miller, and the late Darrell Miller (Michelle). Margaret was a treasured sister to Debbie Hulme, Nancy Colucci (Ken), Diane Flewell (Terry), Dave Hulme, and sister-in-law Heather Hulme. She will be fondly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews as well as many colleagues, friends, and neighbours. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, William & Penny Hulme, and her brothers, Bill & Bob Hulme.
Margaret worked almost 30 years at Bosch Rexroth in Welland and volunteered at the Niagara SPCA Cat Adoption. She was an avid gardener, loved drawing and writing poems & short stories. Her many animals were her babies, and she cared for them like her own children. Margaret had a great sense of humor and quick wit that always had people laughing around her. A special thank you to the staff at Northland Pointe, for the immense love and care they showed our mother right up until the end.
The family invites relatives and friends to join them at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St., Welland, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to Welland and District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
