Obituary of Denis Caza
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Denis Caza on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the age of 81. Beloved husband and best friend of Mariette (née Lacombe) for 55 years. Cherished father of the late Sébastien and Denis Jr. (Shawna). Denis will be deeply missed by his granddaughter Gabriella. Dear brother to Françoise (late Réal) and Catherine (Arthur). Denis will be fondly remembered by his in-laws; Maurice (Rolande), Marthe(late Gilles)and his two godchildren, Melissa & Martin. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Otilia, as well as his siblings: Hermas, Laurette, Jacques, Marie-Mae, and Roger.
Denis dedicated 30 years of his life as a correctional officer at the Monteith Correctional Centre, where he developed lifelong friendships. Denis played fastball as a younger man and continued to enjoy watching sports of all kinds. He also enjoyed playing crib and bowling and he was deeply invested in his hockey and golf pools.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St., Welland, ON. Keeping with Denis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Royal Canadian Legion Br 4 and or Fonds Foyer Richelieu in memory of Denis and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
