Normand Beaudoin

Obituary of Normand Beaudoin

Normand G. Beaudoin, known affectionately as Stormy Normy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the age of 92. He is remembered with great fondness by his family: son Ron Beaudoin (Francine), daughter Lynn Leishman (Scott), and his cherished grandchildren Sheena Vachon (Guy), Ryan Beaudoin (Hollie), Nicole Roy (Steven), Eric Leishman, and Sarah Leishman (Josh). His great-grandchildren, Luc and Anna Vachon, Ella Beaudoin, and Charlie and Scarlett Roy, brought him immense joy.

Normand was predeceased by his loving wife Thelma Beaudoin (née Huneault), his parents Wilfred and Anita Beaudoin, and his sister Jacqueline Faucher. He will also be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Born and raised in Welland, Normand lived here his entire life, dedicating over 30 years to his role as a laborer and supervisor at Welland Forge. Known for his emotional openness and a heart full of love, Normand was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His passions included golfing— a sport he enjoyed well into his 90s— cheering on the Blue Jays, and hosting family BBQs where he delighted in hot dogs, affectionately calling them "chien chaud" with onions and mustard.

Normand's legacy is one of love and dedication, and he will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. He now joins his beloved Thelma, with whom he shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. Following Normand’s wishes cremation has taken place, and a private family ceremony will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Fonds Foyer Richelieu Welland would be appreciated by the family.
