Obituary of Mary Emily Anita Garel
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear mother, Mary Emily Anita Garel (née Martin) on Thursday, August 15, 2024. She was called home to her Lord and saviour while supported with the love and prayers of her family. Mom was born in Hunter River Prince Edward Island on June 2, 1933.
She now joins in Heaven her beloved husband Francis “Frank” de Sales Garel. She will be deeply missed by her 7 children: Richard (Bisa), Judy, Janis (Jim), Robert (Lesley), David (Michelle), Brian (Shirley), Gina (Ringo); 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Anita is survived by her loving brother John (Penny) Martin.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTER, 827 East Main St., Welland, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 4 St. Andrews Ave., Welland. Interment to follow at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
