Obituary of Basilio Falvo
Basilio Falvo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on December 22, 2023, at the age of 80. Basilio is survived by his beloved wife, Grazia “Grace” (née Siena) Falvo, with whom he shared a lifetime of joy and memories. Together, they built a family rooted in love and dedication. Basilio was a devoted father to his children Rosanne, Victoria (Justin), and Gabriel (Kelly). His legacy also lives on through his grandchildren Joia, Luca, Giovanni, Drew, Jacob and Braydon, who were a source of immense pride and happiness for him. Basilio was a caring brother to Gabriel (late Angelina), Vittorio (Lidia), and John (Rosemary). He held strong bonds with his siblings, and their shared experiences created a foundation of support and love. Basilio was predeceased by his parents Francesco and Rosina, as well as his sisters Maria and Grazia. He will also be deeply missed by his many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born in Decollatura, CZ, Italy to Francesco and Rosina (née De Grazia) Falvo, he was a cherished member of his family and community. He came to Canada when he was 20 years old working as a bricklayer and also with the City of Welland in the last 20 years of his career. Throughout his life, Basilio found joy in simple pleasures. One of his passions was riding his bike well into his 70’s and gardening. His strong work ethic and commitment to staying active inspired those around him. Basilio's generosity and kind-hearted nature made him an adored friend to many. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, immense resilience, and family bonds will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family of Basilio Falvo invites relatives and friends to join them at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 827 East Main Street Welland, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 11:00a.m. until service time at 1:00p.m. Interment to follow at Doan's Ridge Cemetery, where Basilio will be laid to rest. The family kindly requests that those who wish to express sympathy consider donating to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
