Obituary of Maurice Jarry
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice Jarry on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by his family.
Maurice is now reunited with his beloved wife, Jacqueline Jarry (née Thibault),whom he cherished deeply. He was a devoted and loving father to Carole Babin (Bob), Suzanne Gauthier (Terry) and Rachel Jarry (Carole).
He was a proud grandfather to Todd, Jennifer (Audi), Michael (Ashley), Hailey (Brianna), Tessa (Brandon), Maurice, and Patrick (Emma). He was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Cameron, Fiona, Callie, Ella and Casper, all of whom brought his immense joy and pride.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fernand and Yvonne Jarry (née Boyte), as well many brothers and sisters.
Maurice devoted over 40 years at Viger Construction, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the hockey games. He especially loved cheering for the Montreal Canadians. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humour and deep love for his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
We are forever grateful to Suzie, Terry and Maurice for taking such wonderful care of dad/pépère. Your selflessness allowed him to spend his final days surrounded by comfort, love and peace. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate Maurice’s life at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTER, 827 East Main St., Welland, on Monday June 29, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Centre de Santé Seniors Program.
