Obituary of Thomas Arthur Haddock

Thomas ‘Tom’ Haddock passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, surrounded by love. 

Tom was the beloved husband of Eleanor (née Tarajos) for 53 years, with whom he built a life filled with care, laughter, and devotion. He was a deeply loved and proud father to his sons Jeff Haddock (Judy Lung) and Greg Haddock.

He will be dearly missed by his sister Nancy Hancock, and fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law Jim Tarajos, Don Tarajos, and Rick Tarajos (Donna). He was a much-loved uncle to Kathy, Steve, Graham, and Riley, and will be kindly remembered by his many cousins. 

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Edith Haddock, and his sister Cathy Haddock, all of whom he held close in his heart throughout his life.

A man who truly embraced life, Tom had a deep love for the outdoors. He found joy in gardening and took great pride in everything he grew. He loved fishing and camping, happiest when surrounded by nature. He was also known as a great pool player, always ready with a smile and a bit of friendly competition. Family ski trips were among his most treasured experiences, creating many lasting memories for him and his family.

He was a proud member of the Welland Legion, where he valued camaraderie and friendship.

The family extends their heartfelt and sincere gratitude to the staff and Dr. Khan at Hospice Niagara for the exceptional compassion, care, and dignity shown to Tom.

Welland Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 827 East Main Street, Welland, is honoured to be entrusted with the care of Tom. Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at a later date.

In memory of Tom, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
