With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Mark Gleason on March 26, 2026, at the age of 61. Mark’s life was one rooted in love, loyalty, and the quiet strength of someone who gave his whole heart to the people who mattered most.
Mark was a devoted and proud father to Bryanna Gleason and Dylan Gleason. Being their dad was the role he treasured above all else, and his love for them was steady, unconditional, and enduring. He will forever live on in their hearts, in the lessons he shared, and in the memories they built together.
He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Corey Gleason (MMM, MSC, CD) and Corey’s wife France Chalifour (CD) of Cole Harbour, NS, with whom he shared a lifelong bond. Mark is now reunited with his parents, Mathias and Colette (née Litalien) Gleason, formerly of Randolph Street in Welland, whose love and guidance shaped his values, his character, and his deep devotion to family. He is also remembered by his family in Welland and his cousin, Ginette Grandbois, who was by his side at the time of his passing. Mark’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ginette for her presence and to the medical team at St. Catharines General for their compassionate care.
Mark will be dearly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcome—whether through a conversation, a shared laugh, or simply his presence. He valued connection, and nothing meant more to him than time spent surrounded by those he loved.
The family will receive family and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION and RECEPTION CENTRE on Friday, April 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Cremation will follow. In memory of Mark, donations to Rose City Kids would be greatly appreciated by the family.
