It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katie Mackenzie on Thursday, March 26th, 2026, at the Welland Hospital. Katie was a devoted and loving mother to Maxine Laframboise (Garry) and Lila Dixon. She will be forever cherished by her sister Millie Harmon (the late Jess). Proud and loving grandmother to Len Laframboise (Vickie), Marc Laframboise (Christina), Jerry Dixon (Tanya), and Hollie Dixon, and a great-grandmother to Elija and Hayden Dixon, who brought her immense joy. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.  Katie was predeceased by her beloved parents, Alexander and Sophie Zabolotnuik, her first husband, Jerry Johnson, her second husband, Bill Mackenzie and her brother Stan Zabolotnuik.

She had a passion for golf and was a four-time champion at Highland Golf Course. Katie embraced life fully and found happiness in music, laughter, happy hour, and time spent with family and friends. Katie was well known for her fantastic perogies she made at the Ukraine work temple.  She worked at Iona Vacuums and The Finishing Touch.  Katie dedicated many years volunteering at the senior centre, where she made lasting connections and contributions to her community.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses on the fourth floor of Welland Hospital for their care and support.

Katie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREAMTION AND RECEPTION CENTER, 827 East Main St., Welland, ON.
