DOUGLAS VICTOR LOUNSBURY
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Victor Lounsbury on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Welland Hospital.
Doug was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Susan; his children, Chris (Christina) and Keri-Anne; and his grandchildren, Emma (Haran) and Miles. He was predeceased by his brothers, Don and Rick.
Born in Tillsonburg, Doug grew up in communities across Southwestern Ontario. He carried a lifelong love of exploring his province, whether on foot, by car, or on his motorcycle. A graduate of one of the earliest Computer Science programs at the University of Waterloo, Doug enjoyed a long and pioneering career in database design and management. Above all else, he was a loving, cheerful family man whose kindness and warmth will be remembered always.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Welland Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception center, 827 East Main St, Welland. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
