Obituary of Marianne Lucille Lapointe
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Marianne Lapointe (née Lapointe), who peacefully left us on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the age of 91.
Marianne was the beloved wife of the late Donald Lapointe, with whom she shared 69 happy years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters: Linda (Patrick) Croteau, Joanne (Joe) Loscavo, and Caroline (Shawn) Briggs. She was a proud grandmother to Stacey (Daniel), Michael (Sarah), Jennifer (Mike), Christopher (Madison), Joshua (Vanessa), Nicholas (Nathalie), and Jeremy (Stephanie), and a cherished great-grandmother to Carter, Marco, Hudson, Lucas, Emmett, and Ava. Marianne will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Léonil (Diane), Clothilde (late Richard) Poulin, and Réjeanne (Réjean) Ménard and aunt Noëlla (late Robert) Lapointe. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugène and Anita, as well as many brothers and sisters.
The Lapointe family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A chapel service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m, followed by the burial of ashes at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
