Carole was an ambassador to the human race itself. She embodied the qualities I wish I was capable of every day: unyielding compassion, unrivaled inner strength, fearless vulnerability... and a smile capable of melting the ice caps.
Carole and I became friends while she served faithfully and with great distinction at the Hilton.
The hotel, and for that matter, everyone who passed by the gift shop when she was behind that counter, was better for simply being in her presence.
My eyes are filled with tears as I write this; Carole and I spoke often while I was processing the loss of our mutual friend Rockin' Ronnie. I have to say, she was a great comfort to me during some unbelievably dark days.
Rest in peace, you dear sweet soul. We often say this in these moments, but you truly will be missed.
