Obituary of Audrey Fern Ferland
It is with heartbreak we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Audrey Ferland (née Minor), on September 5, 2025, at the age of 79. She passed peacefully while surrounded by her loving children.
Audrey was predeceased by her devoted husband of 56 years, Carl Ferland (2022). We take comfort in knowing they are now forever reunited.
She was a cherished and loving mother to her son Michael Ferland (Janet) and a lifelong best friend to her daughter Shelly Baines (Brian). Audrey took immense pride in her role as grandmother, and affectionally known as ' Aga' to her girls Ashley and Alisha Ferland and her little buddy Bronson Baines.
She will be deeply missed by her sister and friend Sharon Knox (late Tony). Audrey was also predeceased by her parents Adrian Sr. and Josephine Minor, her siblings Adrian Minor (Wendy) and Doreen Cornwall (Lloyd), as well as her in-laws Leo and Helen Ferland.
Audrey briefly worked at Bell Canada before dedicating herself to raising her family. She later returned to work at Atlas Speciality Steels as a switchboard operator until her retirement.
Mom was known for her loving nature and her quick wit. She found joy in creating many meaningful keepsakes, whether it was a handmade blanket, a painting or a beautifully painted rock. These tokens of her love will be treasured forever.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and physicians in the Emergency and ICU departments at the Welland Hospital who provided the most excellent, compassionate and professional care to our mom.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St. Keeping with Audrey's last wishes, cremation has taken place.
