Obituary of Patricia Alexander
With heavy hearts and surrounded by family, we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Alexander on February 24, 2025, at the Foyer Richelieu in Welland, at the age of 94.
Cherished wife of the late Alex Alexander. She leaves behind her loving children, David (Lorraine) and Mark (Susan). She was a devoted Grandma to Ryan (Kate), Brittany (Frank), and Jennifer, and a cherished Grammy to Stephen and Daniel. Pat was a proud great-grandma to Ava, Leo, and Ashton. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Margaret, as well as her extended family: Robert (Diane), and Laurie. Pat will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, along with her dear friends, Betty Moore, Muriel French, and Eric and Judy McKnight. Predeceased by her loving parents, Frederick and Helen Greenfield.
Pat was born on June 18, 1930, in St. Catharines, Ontario. She and Alex spent 50 wonderful years in Niagara-on-the-Lake before returning to St. Catharines. After Alex's passing, Pat lived at Ina Grafton Gage Village until her health declined, leading her to Foyer Richelieu. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff, nurses, and PSWs at both locations for their exceptional care, kindness, and friendship.
In her later years, Pat discovered a passion for painting, a hobby that became an integral part of her life. Her artwork has become a treasured part of our family, and her spirit lives on in every brushstroke. Each painting is a lasting memory, and Pat took immense pride in knowing that her works are displayed in the homes of those she loved.
According to Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St., Welland. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion branch #4, 383 Morningstar Ave, Welland. A private burial will follow, reuniting her with Alex in St. David's, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Royal Canadian Legion or the Fonds Foyer Richelieu.
